I am so unbelievably privileged to be able to ride in so many amazing locations but for me Windsor is the absolute crème de la crème. We are thoroughly spoilt to be a part of the Royal Windsor Horse Show and to get to ride across HM The Queen’s private deer park, with a loop around the prestigious Ascot Racecourse as well. I really cant put into words how lovely this estate is and how it feels to be riding up the avenue of trees with the castle in the background, or cantering up towards one of the many monuments. As I say, what a privilege.
For the second time running I took a special horse to Royal Windsor, choosing Mango (Za Marengo). He had a ball as always, and bounced happily around the course for me in the summer sunshine. I was especially lucky to have extra crew this time including my farrier Laurence Ridgeway who is one of my key team members. We all had a great fun filled day, and Mango did me proud once more by coming home in 26th position at 16.24 kmph.
It is wonderful to see the horses from Bahrain and Dubai competing, and they are there to race and put on a great show for us. I was just happy to be there with my magnificent Mango and to enjoy the view. I have some wonderful photos and rosettes and we capped the day off in the marquee by the trot up lanes enjoying some well earned champagne.
