LM 42 (Bonita) has just won the 100 mile FEI 3* at Kings Forest and received the Best Condition Award.
I am delighted to share the news that this incredible horse has given me first win at FEI 3* level. On home ground at my nearest endurance competition based in Kings Forest near Thetford, Norfolk, and to boot my 10th FEI 3* 160kms race thereby giving me FEI Elite Status.
What a weekend.
Months of preparation go into a 160kms race and I have a very special team to thank. Not least my husband and constant support, and Crew manager, Andy Thorne. My exceptional crew of Michelle Macleod, Laurence Ridgeway and Julia Talbot. Especially poignant as this was Michelle’s last crewing for us as she leaves for pastures new. The home team of Daniel Stehlik and Fiona Clark, without whom none of this is possible.
Then of course the top class care from our vets Baker McVeigh, Laurence again in his capacity as farrier, with his apprentice and brother Alex Ridgeway, Sion Davies as consultant farrier, Pippa Windle Baker equine physiotherapy, Dr David Marlin nutritional expert and Science Supplements feeds, and endurance advisory, Dean & Ginni Woodard of Saddle Exchange Saddling Solutions and their incredible Reactor Panel Saddles purpose fitted for each horse for each competition, and Neue Schule bits for bitting advice as well as bits. These are the people that bring the dream alive. Thank you everyone x
